Therapy for Women in Midlife
This isn't weakness.
You're not falling apart.
Midlife can be complex.
I specialize in midlife therapy for women from an integrative perspective, helping you understand the neurobiological, hormonal and psychological transitions of midlife.

Unmasking Midlife - Awakening the Self
Midlife is a threshold—a passageway filled with the tides of change, and even a sense of unraveling. AND It is also an invitation into the quiet opening of the authentic self. It can feel scary, and unfamiliar as we face changes in: Roles, Career, Identities, Relationships, Spirituality, Meaning & Purpose, Physical Body, Energy and, of course hormonal changes

Therapy that meets YOU where you are at....
Just as the midlife journey can be complex, integrative therapy can meet you as a whole person. I integrate multiple modalities from an EMDR based holistic approach.

-
I affirm menopause-informed care -the menopause transition has many pathways. Few therapists are trained in the complexities of this transition and can provide you with an understanding of the stress-menopause transition (called the neuroendocrine transitional state). Menopause is a WHOLE BODY EXPERIENCE that can resurface old nervous system patterns of trauma, surface new health issues, and is a critical window of vulnerability with real long-term physical and mental health consequences.
-
I affirm trauma-informed care - From a neurobiological lens (mind/brain-body) trauma is held in the body and in our nervous system strategies that help us adapt to survive. I help you understand your body's unique signals, messages of trauma and stress embedded in the nervous system's response and can help you process these in a somatic (body) and a brain (adaptive information processing), EMDR based, approach. Because of the major identity transitions within midlife, we are often in a deeper opportunity of healing habitual patterns of stress and trauma. EMDR therapy is an evidenced based approach to the treatment of trauma.
-
I affirm a psychospiritual approach - As we age, deeper questions of life meaning and purpose emerge. We face loss, grief and deep transformation as we move through these spiritual layers of human being. I use expressive arts (Morning Altars TM), nature, compassionate grief based care and ritual to work with the spiritual layers that naturally emerge within this transition.

Integrative Wellness Coaching, an alternative to psychotherapy.....
Sometimes we are looking for an alternative to therapy, less of the deep dive and more of the practical tools to help us move through the midlife and/or hormonal transitions. Coaching can help you with finding ways to understand you body's changes, cues and meet them with integrative and holistic tools. Nervous system care is especially important through this critical window, along with other health supports. This is where brief coaching may help you feel empowered and supported.

My Coaching Services are offered through Heartscapes, LLC. "Heartscapes" means connecting the inner landscapes of our heart to the outer landscape of our life. Cardiovascular (heart) disease is the number women's health issue. I believe that woman have a deep connection with their emotional and physical heart, and how the invisibility of women in this time that we were MOST meant for community is a considerable part of the picture. Through my coaching services, we look at the transition from this heart-mind-body transitions.
