Yoga for Emotional Health
Body awareness is an intrinsic part of the practice of yoga. Private trauma-informed yoga practice sessions encourage fostering body awareness in a safe and controlled way. It promotes a felt sense of physical, emotional and psychological safety and can help improve nervous system regulation.
Yoga Nidra (Meditation)
Yoga Nidra is an ancient guided meditation technique. Regular practice of yoga nidra has been found to improve self-regulation, reduce emotional reactivity. It has been utilized as a form of adjunctive treatment for post-traumatic and complex traumatic stress. A recent study also demonstrated the effectiveness of yoga nidra as a tool in reducing both the cognitive and physiological symptoms of anxiety.
